Mayor's Message

Welcome!

On behalf of the residents and Council of the Village of Foremost I would like to welcome you.
Foremost is a small but dynamic community with a wide variety of amenities. Our community is very proud of our recreational and cultural activities, and we welcome the opportunity for everyone to visit the village and see for yourself what we have to offer.
Foremost has a broad range of businesses that provide residents and visitors with services without having to travel to a larger centre - Doctor’s Office, 24 hr EMS & Fire service, fuel, groceries, hardware, farm supplies are all available. As well we have beauty salons, banking, lawyer, accounting services, auto services and a post office. Accommodations and several restaurants are ready to serve your needs.
Foremost’ s economic base is agriculture with many generations of families continuing to operate successful farming operations. This provides our community with a very stable population base.
Foremost has always been a very family-oriented community with an award-winning school offering Kindergarten to Grade 12. The Village also offers hockey, figure skating, curling, swimming, golf, exercise classes - Senior / Library Complex and the Wayside Campground. There are a variety of Community Groups for the young and old and four churches in the Village. The yearly Rodeo and Theatrical Productions are events not to be missed.
The Village of Foremost is in close proximity to major parks as Writing on Stone, Forty Mile Park, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and the Red Rock Coulee Natural Area.
Moving ahead to the future Foremost is excited to be one of only 2 Registered areas in Canada to have an Unmanned Vehicle Systems test range, and to be serviced by a private railway. Forty Mile Rail is looking to expand beyond grain and commodity service to include Renewable Recourses delivery.
So, if you are just passing through or looking to make our community your home, I welcome all of you and trust that you will enjoy your time with us.

Sincerely,
Lorne Buis, Mayor
Village of Foremost
