Established in 1954 and incorporated in 1958 the County of 40 Mile No. 8 is host to the Village of Foremost. It is located in Census Division 1, 113km southeast of The City of Lethbridge and 106km southwest of Medicine Hat. Its municipal office is located in the Village of Foremost.
